Service Description: BEDROCK_REGIONAL_GEOLOGIC_MAP7_IGS_IN.TIF- A georeferenced TIFF image showing the bedrock geology and unconsolidated deposits of the 1° x 2° Cincinnati quadrangle in the states of Indiana and Ohio, at a scale of 1:250,000. The mapped stratigraphic units include systems and selected groups, formations, and other stratigraphic units, contacts, quarried lands, and made and modified lands. This particular version of the map was produced by the Indiana Geological Survey as part of an effort to populate the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) with data in a digital form. This material is based upon work supported by the Department of Energy and the Arizona Geological Survey under Prime Award Number DE-EE0002850 and Sub-Award Number IN-EE002850.
This web map service (WMS) was published using ArcGIS Server v. 10.2 and is compliant with OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) version 1.3.0 specifications. This service provides dynamic, spatially referenced geographic information using data collected for the National Geothermal Data System (http://www.geothermaldata.org/). In addition to the WMS capabilities, this service was designed to be interoperable with KML (Keyhole Markup Language). A KML service allows the client to view an image of the data in three dimensions, using free software available for download on the internet such as ArcGIS Explorer or Google Earth. For more information on OGC specifications, visit http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards.
