Service Description: The Allen County Geology Map - An online map focusing on the geology of Allen County in northeastern Indiana. Located astride the eastern continental drainage divide, Allen County encompasses some of the most complex and interesting geology and groundwater issues found anywhere in the eastern U.S. Virtually every aspect of modern life is influenced in some way by the geologic underpinnings of the county, from the groundwater that provides most of the region's water, to the limestone bedrock that supplies the basic building materials for most infrastructure.
This map provides a wide range of geologic information for Allen County, including surficial geology, drift thickness, bedrock geology, bedrock topography, water table elevation, and aquifer sensitivity.
