The IDEM data were provided in the form of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Access database files. The USGS data were provided in a text file listing location in latitude/longitude (degrees, minutes, seconds in NAD27).The 2001 through 2004 IDNR data were provided in the form of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet; the older IDNR data were provided in hardcopy (paper) format. The ECTF data were provided in multiple Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Locations were not given explicitly; however, point locations for the ECTF data were matched by station ID with locations plotted on 1:24,000-scale USGS topographic quadrangles (ECTF, 2001). These locations were digitized on a georeferenced version of the topographic map (digital raster graphic projected in UTM Zone 16 NAD83), and the UTM coordinates were derived using a script in the Calculate Field dialog while viewing the attribute table in ESRI ArcMap v.9.0.
